چکیده

The adsorption capacity of activated cow bone carbon as adsorbent for the uptake total hydrocarbon from oilfield produced water was investigated in this work. physico-chemical properties were determined and characterized terms pH surface characteristics. effects process variables on evaluated optimized using response methodology. considered their range values are dosage 2.0 to 5.0 g, contact time 30 60 mins temperature 35 60℃. before treatment revealed that contaminated with high concentration hydrocarbons other contaminants. Elemental composition showed contained predominantly CaO (52.61%) P2O5 (43.05%). BET area, pore volume size found be 321.79 m2.g-1, 0.1624 cm3.g-1 2.10 nm respectively which indicate has a mesoporous structure. maximum amount content adsorbed 607.27 mg.g-1 achieved 2.00 40.56 at 35℃. close R-squared experimental predicted reasonable agreement hence effectiveness methodology modeling removal water. is effective efficient low cost alternative degradation waste streams.

Using multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) for oilfield produced water treatment with environmentally acceptable endpoints.

In this study, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were employed to remove benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) from low and high salinity water pre-equilibrated with crude oil. The treatment endpoint of crude oil-contaminated water is often controlled by BTEX compounds owing to their higher aqueous solubility and human-health toxicity compared to other hydrocarbons. The MWNT so...

Greenhouse gas emissions from oilfield-produced water in Shengli Oilfield, Eastern China.

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from oil and gas systems are an important component of the GHG emission inventory. To assess the carbon emissions from oilfield-produced water under atmospheric conditions correctly, in situ detection and simulation experiments were developed to study the natural release of GHG into the atmosphere in the Shengli Oilfield, the second largest oilfield in China. The ...

Extraction and preconcentration of Pb(II) from water and soil samples using modified activated carbon

In this work, a new extractant was prepared by immobilizing ligand 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol, (5-Br-PADAP), on the activated carbon and applied to extraction of Pb(II) prior to determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. It was confirmed by FT- IR analysis. The metal ion was retained on the 0.05 g of the sorbent in the pH range 6-8, and then eluted with 5 mL of 0....

Preconcentration and Determination of Chromium (III) from Sea Water Samples Using Ion Imprinted Activated Carbon

A simple ion imprinted amino-functionalized sorbent was synthesized by coupling activated carbon with iminodiacetic acid, a functional compound for metal chelating, through cyanoric chloride spacer. The resulting sorbent has been characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and evaluated for the preconcentration and de...
